Changes to Division Structure and Cut Rules

The following adjustments to the competition system will be implemented starting from the 2025–2026 JGL season:

1. Merging of Junior High and Senior High Divisions into the “High School Division”

JGL will consolidate the current Junior High and Senior High divisions into a single High School Division for the purposes of ranking and awarding.

This change has been made due to the relatively low number of participants in the Senior High division.

However, tee box assignments will continue to follow the original separation between Junior High and Senior High divisions.

2. New Cut Rule Introduced for DII Tournaments

To maintain proper pace of play, a cut rule will be implemented in DII events: Players whose total score exceeds 65 strokes on the front nine holes will be deemed ineligible to proceed to the back nine and will not continue the round.

 Divisions

1. Inter-school Team Competition: The best two individual scores from each school will be counted as the team score, regardless of gender.

2. Individual Competition Divisions: Participants will be grouped into Elementary and Secondary School divisions, regardless of gender.

 Prizes

1. Individual Competition: There will be two divisions—Elementary and High School.

In the Elementary School Division, awards will be presented to the Champion, First Runner-Up, and Second Runner-Up.

In the High School Division, awards will be presented to the top five finishers.

2. Team Competition: There will be two divisions—Elementary School and High School. Winner of each division will awarded.

3. Singapore Junior Masters Taiwan Team Qualification: Across four DII events in September and October, the two events with the highest total points will determine Taiwan Team qualification for the Singapore Junior Masters (Nov 9–12, 2025)

【 Cut Policy

Players who score over 65 on the front nine holes will not qualify to continue to the back nine.

 The Rules of Golf

The Championship will be played in accordance with the Rules of golf approved by the R&A (Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews), along with the local rules provided by the Organizing Committee. Disputes, if any, will be settled by the Organizing Committee, and their decisions will be final.

 Dress Regulations

Only acceptable golf attire is permitted. Tank tops, swimwear, t-shirts and denim are not considered appropriate attire and should not be worn during competition.

 Golf Balls

The golf ball that player plays must be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the R&A.

 Pace of Play 】

Pace of play will be strictly enforced. Players must follow the hole-by-hole-timetable of playing pace provided to avoid warning and penalty.

Use of Push Carts and Motorized Carts

All players will use house caddies and motorized carts.

 Use of Measurement Equipment

Measurement devices with specifications approved by R&A or USGA are allowed to be used in this event.

 Serious Breach of Etiquette

The following will be considered serious breaches of etiquette, with the maximum penalty being disqualification:

(1) Verbal violence towards fellow competitors, officials, staff, or other guests.

(2) Intentionally offending a fellow competitor.

(3) Improper behavior such as swearing or throwing clubs.

(4) Smoking and consuming alcoholic drinks during a stipulated round.

 Decision on Ties

In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined using the modified USGA countback method, based on scores from the final round in the following order:

(1) Total score of the round

(2) Score for the last 9 holes (holes 10–18) of the round

(3) Score for the last 6 holes (holes 13–18) of the round

(4) Score for the last 3 holes (holes 16–18) of the round

(5) Score on the 18th hole of the round

(6) If a tie still remains, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to determine the final result. (eg. flip coin, draw. joint winner...etc)

*The organizer reserves the right to amend the rules in accordance with on-site conditions.
